We feel that PC Optimizer Pro is a type of scam because of the type of errors that it reports and the actually performance or stability improvements it claims to fix. PC Optimizer Pro is not one of these reputable products in our opinion. Also, consider there are a lot of really great free PC optimization programs on the market as well as many paid programs that do not use any form of egregious marketing or make false claims with the intentions of getting sales. May experts on the subject consider this type of scan snake-oil even and should never be purchased. It is very aggressive in its marketing and for most users they feel that it is needed or they will face sudden consequences to their computer. More importantly we feel that PC Optimizer Pro falls more on the scamware side based on the tactics it uses to try to get a user to purchase the software.
PC OPTIMIZER PRO PUP SOFTWARE
In some versions the software will "repair" a few issues but will require payment to fix all issues.

PC Optimizer Pro then redirects the user to a web page where they must buy the software in order to make any fixes. The user is then tricked into pressing the "Fix" button to correct any of these problems. However, even though most of these errors are compeletly benight to the performance or stability of the computer, PC Optimizer Pro reports them as critical. These problem it detects ranging from registry errors such as "corrupt" registry entries to temp files. Upon completion, the scan will report hundreds of known errors and problems that should be fixed immediately in order to prevent the computer from crashing or running slow. Once it is installed, it will quickly start running in the foreground and perform a scan of the user's computer. The scam works by the user unintentionally installing PC Optimizer Pro on their computer, usually through a bundled installation or download managers.
