It was a game that lacked a lot of the problems all the others have had. It's the most polished, the most well thought out and beautiful game you can imagine. Joes review hits on the money with regards to total war warhammer, though I think, as fantastic as this title is, he goes to far to insinuate it might be better than Shogun 2.

To remedy toxic lack of good will, CA and Sega has made a mass roadmap of free DLC and content post-launch for the title as well as much more worthwhile and fair priced paid DLC. With Total War Warhammer, Joe speaks to that he is both a Warhammer fan and a Total War fanboy, so he is coming as excited for this for multiple angles.

Rome 2 and Atilla deserved a lot of scorn, and Rome 2 in particularly is one of the most disappointing PC releases since Spore. You can see many angry Steam reviews that are hateful towards previous titles due to Creative Assembly and SEGAs DLC practice. With regards to Warhammer Some of Angry Joes most notorious reviews are those of previous Total War games, and in those (particularly Rome 2) he talked for an incredible amount of about DLC practice, content locking and so on.Īngry Joes opinion here is quite reflective on a very vocal and passionate Total War community. A B- is still a good game to me, just not great. Again, it's not a bad game, we just think that are a better games out there for calendar 2016. I hope that explains the POV of an Uncharted 4 hater lol. However, it's all opinions, and Uncharted 4 is still a fine choice. In an excellent 2016, us haters just find there are better games. However, they were to few and far between. I found the gunplay, stealth, and setpieces all excellent. Uncharted is Indiana Jones, not The Road. You can see the TLOU influence clearly, but it does not fit Uncharted's world. The issue is that ND and the same directors finished off what many consider their GOTG and some their favorite game of all time in TLOU. It's still rather auto platforming, although the climbing pick adds some skill. The world and additional character are rather boring, and traversal is not too creative. Self admitted, but I have no problems with Joe's choice. I think the combat is great personally and it isn't just the standard hide pop up and shoot, like a typical 3rd person shooter. What about shootouts while a building is collapsing around you, or the new open sections that offer you the choice of stealth or guns blazing. Just because its a slow section, doesn't mean there is no gameplay and its for story pacing, it can't be gunfights and explosions every few minutes but when the combat kicks in, its great, shootouts while being dragged along by a truck, then jumping from car to car, then being chased by an armoured truck on a bike all in one sequence Apart from the cutscenes, you are always controlling Drake, even if its a slower section where characters are moving through the environment while talking about plot points or just joking with each other, its way more natural storytelling than a forced cut scene that take you totally out of gameplay. People have talked about how "unreplayable" the game is, and the opening hours of the game is probably one of the biggest reasons why this is the case.įair enough if you don't like Drake but I would hardly say there is a lack of gameplay. So okay, you don't just sit and watch cutscenes for four hours, but in effect, the interactivity is so slight that it might as well not exist. Besides the cutscenes, the actual interactive moments in this "prologue" is entirely guided and doesn't challenge you in any meaningful way (unless you're hunting for collectables I suppose). all of that stuff you have to get to before you have your first real combat arena at the party. The boat chase, the orphanage, the underwater recovery operation, the attic, the prison flashback. Click to expand.I'm not going to post that RLM thing because they were out to hate the game from the start even though it encapsulates the feeling I had when I started the game, but as a massive fan of UC2 (and as someone who suffered enough through 3 to get the platinum in that game as well), I just found the opening very tedious.
